The Jefferson city council’s water/sewer and street/sanitation committees will meet Tuesday, Jan. 16, at noon in the council room at the municipal building at 220 N. Chestnut St.
The agenda includes items of ongoing interest in the community including an update on a railroad quiet zone, the E. Lincoln Way entry to the city, and a walkway to Greenewood Road.
David Williamson will do a presentation on downtown alley improvements, the committee will consider a request to install pedestrian crossing lights on E. Lincoln Way at Vine St, the committee will hear an update on a request for alley improvements adjacent to Peoples Trust & Savings Bank, and the committee will discuss ways to increase use of curbside recycling and recycling in general.
Council committees do not make decisions but make recommendations to the full council about how to proceed.
